CSS in IE vs firefox

Ik heb een probleem met een css die ik gebruik. Nouja een pagina die een oud studiegenoot gemaakt heeft die ik ook gebruik voor mijn CV.

In firefox werkt de css prima. IE kent echter een probleem:

Wanneer ik in de code gebruik maak van het <BR> statement, dan komt de regel in IE net een tikje naar links tov de regel erboven. Ze zijn dus niet gelijk uitgelijnd. Firefox toont die regels echter dus wel goed. Is er iemand die zo een idee heeft wat er mis gaat?
